On December 5th, a meeting in Brussels marked the beginning of a new collaborative effort aimed at enhancing the digital administration of Erasmus+ mobility. This gathering, known as the EWP Champions meeting, saw attendance from representatives of various European higher education institutions, all connected through the EWP network.
The primary focus of the 2024 discussions was the development of a communication strategy to encourage broader use of EWP within the higher education community. This included prioritizing key messages for dissemination. The meeting also delved into how digitalization could streamline administrative processes in both existing and upcoming Erasmus+ programs.
A major point of agreement among the attendees was the need for increased investment in practical and targeted training for colleagues with varying needs in the following year. The EWP Champions suggested showcasing their daily usage of EWP in a peer-to-peer format as a contribution to this goal.
Significantly, the meeting addressed the issue of reducing double data entry in digital administrative processes. This was identified as a critical area for improvement.
Additionally, the event served as a platform for the EWP Champions to exchange best practices and insights from their experiences with implementing Erasmus Without Paper, sharing valuable lessons learned over recent years.
In concluding the meeting, the EWP Champions were asked to encapsulate their vision for the future of EWP in a single word. The responses varied, with words like “challenging,” “promising,” “hope,” and “simplification” reflecting the diverse perspectives and aspirations for the program’s future.
